This privacy policy describes how brokenbranch.dev ("the site"), operated by Ben Schippers / Broken Branch ("we", "us"), collects and uses information when you visit or interact with our site.

Information We Collect

Email subscriptions: If you follow workshop ships from the homepage or request Productive Compute Framework updates, we collect the email address you provide, the subscription source, a timestamp, and your IP address, which is stored with the record. Your IP is also held in memory for hourly rate limiting. We use the address only for the updates selected on that form. We do not sell, share, or rent subscriber information to third parties.

Windowsill offerings: If you leave a short offering on the Windowsill, we store the text and timestamp so it can appear as an anonymous pebble. Offerings are limited to 60 characters and are automatically pruned after 24 hours. An IP address is used in memory for hourly rate limiting but is not stored with the offering.

Analytics data: We use Vercel Web Analytics, which collects anonymous, aggregated usage data (page views, referrers, browser type). Vercel states this data contains no personally identifiable information, and we do not pass it to anyone else.

Server logs: Our hosting provider (Vercel) may collect standard server log data including IP addresses, timestamps, and requested URLs as part of normal service operation.

How We Use Your Information

• Email addresses are used only for the workshop or Productive Compute Framework updates selected on the signup form. No spam, no marketing from third parties.
• Windowsill offering text is shown anonymously for up to 24 hours and used only as part of that public interactive scene.
• Analytics data is used to understand aggregate traffic patterns and improve the site.

Data Retention

Email subscription records are retained until you request removal. Windowsill offerings are pruned after 24 hours. Analytics and standard server logs are retained according to Vercel's policies.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your email address at any time by contacting us at Benjamin.Schippers@outlook.com. We will process your request promptly.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
